Witness the remarkable transformation of a 2,000-square-foot log home, where our meticulous process brought out the natural beauty of the wood and ensured long-lasting protection. This project combined expert craftsmanship and thoughtful planning to enhance both the exterior and structural integrity of the home.
We began by carefully stripping away the old stain from the entire log exterior, returning the home to its original, natural wood state. With the wood exposed, we applied a semi-transparent Tavern Oak Log and Home stain to the walls and rear deck. The stain not only highlighted the natural wood grain but also provided durable protection against the elements, ensuring the home’s rustic charm would endure. Completing this step before the new roof installation was strategic, allowing us to avoid potential spills or overspray on the roof's fresh surface.
Next, we shifted our focus to the roof, a critical element for both the home's protection and curb appeal. We removed the 2,800 square feet of old roofing down to the plywood substrate, inspecting and repairing any imperfections to create a solid foundation for the new roof system. Once prepped, we installed Owens Corning Chateau Green architectural shingles, selected for their durability and aesthetic appeal. This shingle choice complemented the natural log exterior beautifully, giving the home a cohesive and refined look.

After completing the roof installation, we performed a thorough cleanup, ensuring the site was spotless and the home was ready for its owners to enjoy.
